Abstract Submission Rules & Regulations
ABSTRACT PRESENTATION
Deadline for Abstract Submission: 31st July 2026 at 23:59 (MYT/SGT)
Abstract submissions are welcome for the following categories for presentation for the 47th Malaysian Paediatric Association Annual Congress 2026.
TYPES OF PRESENTATION
- Young Investigator Award (oral presentation only)
- Free Paper Oral Presentation
- Poster Presentation
- Presenters may select the category by indicating their preferred mode of presentation (oral or poster).
- As the slots for oral presentation are limited, not all submissions for oral presentation will be automatically accepted. Selection will be done by a panel of experts based strictly on scientific merits of the abstract.
- Abstracts not selected for oral presentations may be accepted for poster presentation.
ABSTRACT DETAILS
- The Scientific Committee will review and reserves the right to decide on the acceptance of an Oral or Poster presentation.
- Authors will receive email notification regarding abstract acceptance/rejection from 17th August 2026 onwards.
- The presenting authors must register for the congress before 31st August 2026.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
PLEASE READ THESE THOROUGHLY BEFORE PREPARING YOUR ABSTRACT:
- Language: All abstracts must be written in English.
- All abstracts must be submitted through the ONLINE SUBMISSION portal. Abstracts submitted via email, fax or post will not be accepted.
- Each author is permitted to submit more than one abstract (excluding invited lectures).
- All abstracts should be written, submitted and presented in English with a maximum word count of 350 words (not including the abstract title, authors and institutions).
- Abstracts must be SUBMITTED BY 23:59 (MYT/SGT), on FRIDAY, 31st July 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Incomplete abstracts will not be accepted.
- Use single-spacing with no indentation for titles or paragraphs. Define all abbreviations in parentheses after the full term upon first mentioned.
- Please adhere to the following format:
- Authors/affiliations
- Background and aim
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
- References
- All headings must be in UPPERCASE
- Publication of Abstracts
Accepted abstracts will be published in a supplementary edition of the Malaysian Journal of Paediatric and Child Health. Consent to publication is assumed unless the organisers are notified otherwise. - Disclosure Statement
To promote transparency, all presenters must include a disclosure slide or statement indicating any financial relationships with commercial entities (e.g., pharmaceutical or diagnostic companies), if applicable.
CRITERIA FOR CONGRESS YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD
- At the time of presentation, the presenter must be below 40 years of age.
- The first author listed must be the presenter.
- The first author must have contributed significantly to the conception, design, data acquisition and interpretation of the study.
- Original research from any country is welcome.
